ATHLETIC UNDERWEAR
The choice may depend on what sports you are mostly playing such as running, soccer, baseball, football, tennis or cycling. But this leads to a few questions, do you need support from the constant moving and bouncing. Airable fabric to reduce the temperature. Or the best anti-chafing underwear.
Some of the biggest athletes have started or created their own clothing brands including underwear. So do they offer better insight into what is needed?
When Odell Beckham Jr. of the Cleveland Browns took the field using a $190,000 Richard Mille watch. They lost to the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 8, the concern was the breaching league guidelines or just the rules of sound judgment?
His choice to carry a work of fine Swiss art onto the field in a take on sport seemed a little strange. Like a mixed-martial art, fighter brings a Picasso sketch into a cage match.
However, many big-money sports professionals in 2019 did the same. In which eight-figure athletes increasingly flash six-figure watches as a branding chance for player and watchmaker alike.
“A pop-cultural arms race has definitely emerged over the last years approximately when it comes to high-end watchmaking and leading athletes,” stated Stephen Pulvirent, the handling editor of Hodinkee, an influential watch website.” It’s become the norm now. And for the majority of people, seeing a watch on the wrist of somebody they appreciate and admire is a quite effective entry indicate the world of high-end watches.” Even in football, a sport where gamers routinely wear and sometimes lose $50,000 diamond stud earrings. His choice to wear a lightweight, Lamborghini-priced chronograph known as an RM 11-03 McLaren, stuck out. Not even if of its head-turning strap rendered in Browns-helmet orange.
Game Rules
For one thing, football players are not supposed to wear watches during games. At least according to a strict reading of Rule 5, Section 4, Article 4 of the National Football League’s rule book. Which restricts gamers using” exposed tough items, “which most likely might trigger injury throughout play.
Beckham, who used a $2 million Richard Mille throughout pregame warm-ups the following week, was not buying that argument. In the days following the Tennessee game, he argued to press reporters that he was being unjustly singled out due to the fact that of his flamboyant image. Many players wear precious jewelry or metal knee braces during games. He stated the watch was only plastic.
“If any person else would have used the watch, if it was a $20 watch, it would not have actually been no problem,” Beckham stated. “That’s just my life. It’s something else if it ain’t this. If it wasn’t the watch, it would have been the way I ‘d tied my shoes.”
With his efforts to combine football with haute horology and ESPN later priced estimate a representative for Richard Mille saying that Mr. Beckham is not a paid endorser for the brand.
Golf – Rolex and Omega
Golf stars like Tiger Woods, Michelle Wie and Rory McIlroy frequently sport big-ticket watches by Rolex and Omega throughout competitions. Golf, after all, tends towards the noble end of the sports landscape, with a C-suite fan base. And unlike basketball, the game unfolds languidly over the course of an afternoon, totally free from the pressure of flashing shot clocks. In theory, it makes sense that golfers may wish to elegantly keep track of the time from their own wrist as they meander the back nine.
Tennis
Tennis, too, is a sport where it has actually ended up being routine to see Roger Federer flashing a glimmering Rolex each time he raises a Grand Slam prize. Federer has long served as a brand ambassador for the luxury Swiss maker. Rafael Nadal, too, has changed from global tennis star to walking signboard for Richard Mille by appearing at huge matches with watches that cost as much as a suburban split-level home. This consists of the lightweight RM 27-03 Tourbillon, priced at $725,000, that he used while winning the French Open in 2018.
Plutocrat-worthy wristwatches have ended up being such an inextricable part of tennis culture. Serena Williams rocked a rose-gold Royal Oak Offshore by Audemars Piguet for her recent launching on a Wheaties box. Watches likewise rule in soccer, an international obsession, and marketing juggernaut with an approximated 3.5 billion fans. Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese star, has 184 million Instagram fans, making him the most followed celeb worldwide.
While Law 4 of the FIFA rule book avoids gamers from wearing watches, pendants, or earrings throughout matches, to avoid injury to gamers. The post match interviews begin,” Mr. Bennett stated, “the gamers ice-up in their Pateks, Chopards, and Breguets.”
Footballers
“Watches and footballers have become so symbiotic,” Mr. Bennett said, “that you just need to point out any elite gamer and their fans can name their watch sponsor nearly as rapidly as they can the club they bet.”
The advantages for brands are obvious. With a number of the most desired high-end enjoys nowadays are, technically, sports watches. From a $34,000 Rolex Daytona in 18 karat gold is, at least in theory, a timing tool for car racers. It makes sense that the manufacturers would use the wrists of famous professional athletes as a sales gadget.
For the stars, recommendation cash is obviously part of the allure, although the regards to those agreements are rarely revealed.
Possibly it is not the only temptation. In an era when athletes such as Russell Westbrook and LeBron James have become staples on the front row at style programs. Athletes clearly have discovered that the ideal watch is the linchpin of any drop-dead ensemble.
Watch Collections
Today’s multimillionaire professional athletes are not sweat-drenched gladiators. Many who value elegant watches simply as they would fine wine or contemporary art. Basketball players such as David Robinson, Andre Iguodala, and J.J. Redick, for example, have all geeked out on their watch collections on the Hodinkee interview series Talking Watches. It is uncertain, however, if Beckham himself will join the ranks of superstar watch nerds. After endless chatter about his timepieces. The star receiver seemed wearied by concerns about watches. Even with the statement of a new recommendation handle Daniel Wellington, a Sweden-based maker of watches in the $200 variety.
“I’m off of it,” He told reporters after the Browns ‘success over the Jets on Monday when asked about his newest $2 million practice watch. “I don’t really have any remark about it. I believe Daniel Wellington might be a better watch than these, a little classier, not as fancy as this one. I’m simply blessed.”
On Saturday 12th October 2019 Eliud Kipchoge conquered one of sports long-time challenges. When he ran the marathon in under two hours. It was a shocking accomplishment that for quite a while appeared impossible.
The feat required a ton of planning point by point arranging, from the impeccably level course to the good climate. Kipchoge kept running behind a well-coordinated band of pacesetters swapping all through the situation to keep him on track. The way that it was both pace-set and out-of-rivalry implied it was anything but an official world record.
Be that somewhat disputable are his shoes. Kenyan Eliud wore a bespoke adaptation of the Nike Vaporfly coaches called AlphaFLY a significant advancement in the feat. Here we investigate precisely what all the object is about.
What are Vaporflys and what makes them unique?
Nike Shoes
They are a running shoe made by Nike that as far as anyone knows carries critical improvement to execution. Inserted in their thick frothy sole is a carbon-fiber plate which Nike research says give improved metabolic effectiveness of 4 percent.
No, they are lawful and have been utilized to incredible impact in the course of recent months or something like that. Kipchoge broke the long-distance race world record wearing them while Abraham Kiptum broke the half-long distance race world record as well.
So what’s the issue?
From numerous points of view, there is no issue. Mechanical advances are a piece of game and consistently have been, and all things considered, Kipchoge’s legs are as yet doing the running. Be that as it may, a couple of developments have such a moment sway on a game as the Vaporfly has had on long separation running. Improved execution hasn’t been steady over decades however close to the moment, and it has brought into the inquiry whether a donning moral line has been crossed.
Can a shoe truly have that much effect?
The fantastic numbers behind Kipchoge’s sub-two-hour long-distance race
It appears to be so. Free investigations concur with Nike’s determination that they bring a noteworthy favorable position over a contender wearing typical shoes. In addition, Kipchoge’s point of view was a bespoke structure particularly for him and his 1.59 test, so he may have had considerably a greater amount of a preferred position than the first 4 percent guarantee. Since the Vaporfly 4% release, Nike has understood a ZoomX Vaporfly Next% adaptation which should be far better. Running columnist Nick Harris-Fry as of late revealed to The Independent. “I’ve assessed a ton of shoes and Vaporflys are the main ones that are clearly extraordinary – and better – to everything else.”
So for what reason doesn’t each sprinter wear them?
A lot of sprinters are currently utilizing them, albeit some can’t for sponsorship reasons. Still, at the end of the day, there was an instance of a sprinter sewing another logo over the Nike swoosh with the goal that he could keep running in the shoe in the rivalry. For the vast majority of us, they are still somewhat subtle however at a first-class level they are made to quantify, while on the open market they cost around £200.
So what now?
Other organizations are edgy to coordinate and even outperform Nike’s development. Nike is contributing vigorously to improve what they’ve just got, so this is probably not going to be the finish of the story. It is probably going to mean quicker occasions. More records and that will bring considerably more questions. Be that as it may, until somebody places a wheel or a stream pack in their heels, the IAAF is probably not going to intercede, and the issue will thunder on.
A very first PGA Tour title hasn’t come as quickly for Viktor Hovland as it has for fellow newbies Matthew Wolff and Collin Morikawa. If there’s any doubt this 22-year-old Norwegian isn’t also genuine, he simply broke a longstanding trip record. And he needed less than four months as a pro to do it.

Hovland shot an opening 69 at the CJ Cup at Nine Bridges, Jeju Island, South Korean in October 2019 to continue an amazing streak. He now has shot in the 60s for 18 successive PGA Tour rounds, breaking the previous record set by Bob Estes in 2001. Sorry, Bob.
For much of his round, the streak remained in serious jeopardy as Hovland was even par through 11 holes on the par-72 course. But he birdied 3 of his next six holes prior to making par on No. 18 to post yet another sub-70 rating.
Hovland’s historic streak started with a 64 in the final round of the Rocket Mortgage Championship in June. His last 5 last round scores have been 64-65-64-65-64. Decent.
The record dates back to 1983, which is before Hovland was born.

For a keen hiker, a pair of
comfortable hiking boots isn’t the whole deal. No, a man who loves to hike or
even walk over long distances needs the clothing to fit the bill. This isn’t a

features, such as several pockets, hidden pockets even, and material which has

The LGPA Tour is extremely popular
amongst female golf players, with all eyes on the top 10, vying for supremacy
over one another.
If you’re a budding female tennis
player, you’ll no doubt want to know which golf clubs the top 10 on the LPGA
tour are using, so you can emulate your hero and work towards playing against
them in the future!
Choosing a golf club is a difficult and time-consuming thing. You can opt for the same club as your favorite player if you like, but how can you be sure that your game is the same as theirs? There is a distinct feel and difference between every single type of golf club, and in that case, it’s far better to go down the individual route and choose a club which enhances your strengths and reduces your weaknesses.
A golf club has to feel natural in
your hand, with the right amount of weight to add power and stability, but it
also has to be lightweight enough to allow you to move freely, and not be
weighed down by equipment which simply isn’t right for you. Every single person
has a different body shape and grip, and that means that every golf club isn’t
going to be right for every person – one size does not fit all in this regard,
whether male or female.
For this reason, purchasing a golf club is a huge decision and often time-consuming one. Finding out as much as you can beforehand serve you well, but it’s also a good idea to look at what the pros are using, to give you more information and a few names which you might like to look into a little deeper. For instance, maybe you want to use what the world number 1 is using, not only for kudos but also because it fits your game just as well as it fits her.
This is a personal decision and one
you have to get right if you don’t want to spend a small fortune.
If you’re not sure where to start and you want to know which golf clubs the top 10 elite women’s players are using at the moment, let’s explore a little further. Below you will find information on which golf clubs the current LPGA top 10 are using. Remember, rankings change and so do endorsements; if a contract is coming to an end, a player may choose to go elsewhere and try a different set of clubs. In that case, we can only give you the information have right now, but that’s certainly good enough in terms of where, to begin with your own golfing game!
Golf Clubs Used by The LPGA Top 10
Always shifting and changing with
every single tournament, the current LPGA rankings look a little like this:
Jin Young Ko
Jeong Eun Lee
Sung Hyun Park
Lexi Thompson
Minjee Lee
Brooke M Henderson
Sei Young Kim
Nelly Korda
Ariya Jutanugarn
Hyo Joo Kim
Who is your favorite player from the top 10 we’ve just mentioned? Big money winners and huge kudos come to these players on a regular basis, so you can take their advice when it comes to which golf clubs to purchase!
Every single one of those players is a regular event winner, but the world number 1, Jin Young Ko is the most successful at the current time. Having recently won the Evian Championship, Jin Young Ko is a Callaway ambassador and as a result, she uses Callaway clubs for huge games and tournaments. And uses Titleist Balls
For her most recent victory, Jin Young Ko used the Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero, and used it alongside the three wood and five wood of the same brand and make. It worked very well, and perhaps this is something you can try too! One of the biggest brand names in the golf club world, you’ll be able to fid Callaway clubs for a good price if you shop around, but always remember to check deals before making a purchase.
World number two, Jeong Eun Lee, the
most recent US Open Winner is another Callaway user, sticking with the Apex Pro
19. Alongside this club, she uses the Titleist Pro V1x balls which are
extremely popular in both the men and women’s games. This type of ball is quite
expensive, being the most technologically advanced in the game at the moment,
but it certainly has its major advantages and could give you the edge, when
used with the right set of clubs.
Next up we have Sung Hyun Park, who sticks with the ever-popular TaylorMade brand. For her latest KPMG Women’s PGA Championship victory she used the P770 club, with a 9 iron. Everything Sung Hyun Park uses is TaylorMade, having signed a deal with the brand, just like many of the men’s players on the PGA Tour.
Lexi Thompson does things a little differently, opting for the Coba King F9 Speedback for her win at the ShopRite Classic back in June, whilst Minjee Lee uses Srixon for her equipment requirements.
What About Numbers 5 to 10?
Work number 5, Brooke Henderson is a recent Meijer Classic Winner and she is a brand ambassador for Ping WITB. For her recent victory, she chose the G400, with the Ping 3 wood, 5 wood, wedges, and putter, creating a full set to choose!
Sei Young Kim plays with he MIZUNO JPX Tour clubs but pairs this with the ever-popular Titleist ball. Nelly Korda uses a split set, all from PXG, and again, another fan of Titleist balls.
Rounding up the top ten we have Ariya
Jutanugarn and Hyo Joo Kim.
Jutanugarn uses the TaylorMade RSI TP UDI club, whilst Hyo Joo Kim is a fan of the Japanese brand, Yonex.
How to Find The Ideal Golf Club For Your Needs
Now you know which clubs the top 10 on
the LPGA tour use, what about you?
Do you feel inclined to follow in the footsteps of your favorite player or are you more concerned with your own game and finding the best type of clubs for you?
It’s best to do a little of both.
There is nothing wrong with following in the footsteps of your golfing heroes
when it comes to equipment; after all, they’re professionals, winning
tournaments at every turn, so they know a thing or two about the right golf
clubs and equipment for the job! On the other hand, everybody plays golf
slightly differently, with different strengths and weaknesses, different
specific shots, and ways to hit. In that case, choosing a more bespoke option,
whilst taking into account professional preferences, is the best way to go.
The best starting point is to go to a professional store and have a proper fitting. This means measurements and understanding your specific swing. If you can, do this in real-time and don’t use a simulator, as this won’t give you a true feel of what it is like out there on the green, hitting shots that could make your next tournament!
It can also be very confusing for a
beginner when shopping for equipment. Not only do you ache the starting point
of the club, but you need to add in wedges, drivers, and balls. Balls
themselves are far more technological than you might think!
With that in mind, it’s a good idea to do your research ahead of time and think carefully about what you’re going to be using your clubs for. How often are you going to play? What type of terrain will you be playing on? Is it worth spending a lot on a set of clubs that you might not use that often, or are you a keen golfer who is looking to perhaps replace an old, tired set?
Knowing your requirements will allow
you to save time and money.
The best players on the LPGA Tour are often driven by contracts with various companies, but they also choose the equipment which suits them the best. For the most part, it won’t matter if one company throws a big dollar contract at a player if the player in question doesn’t rate the equipment being offered to them. The quality of play has to be at the center of the decision, and that is why when a player uses a specific piece of equipment on a regular basis and wins with it, you know that particular option is a good one to look into further.
The problem? The more endorsed an item
is by perhaps the LPGA top 10, and the PGA top 10, you’re going to find higher
price tags as a result.
Shop around, find the best deals, and remember to hold the clubs in your hand and get a real feel for them before you make a final decision. This will be a costly mistake if you get it wrong, but it will save you cash in the long-term if you get it right.
The game of tennis is not as simple as
it looks! You do not simply hit a ball with a racket and run around the court,
there are many different equipment types required in order to hone finesse and
skill. Without these various types of equipment, the game would become dull and
players would lose their shine.
Tennis Grips one of those pieces of equipment may not be that glamorous to the outsider, but to a budding player, it’s an extremely important piece of kit. We are of course talking about tennis racket grips.
Top Tennis Racket Grips According to the Top 10 ATP and WTA Players
The grip fits onto the handle of the racket and is a support system when holding the racket during a match. It helps the player to hit shots in different ways, and provides support and grip, especially during hot weather when things may become a little sweaty! The other way of describing a grip is the way the racket is held, i.e. a technique used by the player. In this case, the three main types of grip used in the modern game, the Continental, Eastern, and Western. You will sometimes hear the Continental referred to as the Chopper, but the arena and the same. Players also occasionally change grips throughout the course of a match, depending on the shots they’re receiving and which responding shots they need to make.
You can study a player’s game prior to
a match, but you have no idea which shots they’re going to send your way until
you both reach the court and begin playing. For that reason, you’ll find the
top men and women in the game moving between grips throughout the course of big
matches.
In terms of the equipment type of grip, you’re looking at a leather grip or an over-grip. The leather grip is usually already installed on the racket when you purchase it, but if this doesn’t feel right to you, you will need to purchase an over-grip to sit on top. It’s best to go and have a proper assessment before you purchase, so you can see what size of over-grip you will need.
Types of Grips
If you’re keen to emulate your tennis
playing heroes, you might want to know which grips they use on a regular basis,
equipment and technique-wise. We’re going to look at which grips the top 10
players on the ATP and WTA tours use. Before we get there, which players do we
need to cover?
Some of the popular Grip Tape, and Overgrips which are used by ATP and WTA
Grips Favoured by The Top 10 Men’s Players on The ATP Tour
Most male players use and over-grip on their racket, to give them a bespoke grip and feel to the shots they’re making. This is going to vary in terms of size, and it is a very personal choice, i.e. it has to fit your hand measurement and the racket you’re using. With that in mind, we’re going to talk about technique grip here too, so you can purchase an over-grip that suits your racket and your size and you can then work to recreate the technique your favorite players use.
Federer
Current world number 3 and tennis
legend Roger Federer uses an eastern grip when he plays, something which he has
always used and which can be seen very evidently whenever you watch him on TV.
He also uses a 4 3/8” grip with an over-grip, as most players do. World number
2 Nadal moves towards the western grip, which he has always stated feels more
natural to him. Size-wise, Nadal goes for the 4 1/4” grip with a small over-grip
too. Both of these top players feel that with a smaller sized grip they can get
more power on their shots.
Djokovic
Of course, you’re interested in world
number 1 Djokovic! Djokovic currently uses a western grip, but one which is
considered 3/4 western, i.e. a bespoke mixture. This allows the world number
one to mix up his shots according to the competitor over the other side of the
net. This also allows him to get spin on the ball, something he is famous for
during play. Size-wise, Djokovic goes for 4 3/8”, with the same thought process
as Federer; i.e. this size gives him more power and wrist snap when hitting his
shots.
On the other hand, Dominic Thiem goes for 4 1/4”, just as Nadal. Widely thought to have one of the best forehands in the game, after Nadal, Thiem has a western-style technique, but he has been known to mix this up quite widely throughout games too.
Nishikori
World number 5, Stefano Tsitsipas favors the 4 5/8” size grip with an over-grip included, whilst Kei Nishikori goes for a slightly small 4 3/8” grip to give him more control over strong shots.
As we move towards the bottom the top 10 section, Alexander Zverev opts for a smaller over-grip, using a 4 3/8”, just as Nishikori, with a western-style grip technique. Daniil Medvedev also opts for the smaller grip, with Kevin Anderson, the current world number 10, bringing up the rear with the same measurement as Federer.
Grips Favoured by The Top 10 Women Players on The WTP Tour
As with the men, over-grips are favored by all the top 10 women on the WTA tour, with the current world number one, using a Head Pro over-grip of size 4 3/8”, varying according to game and opponent. Whilst many of the female players use a slightly smaller grip than the men, Serena Williams is the exception. Favoring a larger grip size, of 4 5/8”, Williams likes to create as much power on her shots as possible, overpowering her opponents on her way to another victory.
Former world number one, Naomi Osaka uses a Yonex Super Grip Over-grip with a smaller size whereas Karolina Pliskova opts for the Tourna Grip XL, with no size known, but the XL gives you an idea that she tends to be more towards the larger grip size, just like Williams.
As sizes are very similar throughout
the female players in terms of grip size, it’s worth looking at the brand names
they use instead. These are all varied, but Wilson is one of the most commonly
seen, with Simona Halep and Kiki Bertens amongst those who opt for this
particular grip make.
Petra Kvitova ops for the Perforated Pro Over-grip, with Elina Svitolina, goes for the Advantage Over-grip.
Why an Over-grip is a Vital Piece of Kit For Budding Tennis
Players
As you can see, not one single player
avoids an over-grip. This is something you need to look into if you want to
become a top player at some point in the future.
Whilst rackets come with a grip,
usually a leather grip, these are not bespoke, meaning that if you want extra
control over your shots and you want to have peace of mind when holding your
racket, you need an over-grip to create a fit which suits your hand and your
specific requirements.
Grip Tape
When shopping for a grip you need to take your time and listen to advise. It’s a good idea to head to a specialist sports shop for measurement purposes, to ensure that you get the right size for your needs. It’s also important to shop around in terms of brand, as some of these are going to be more expensive than others, simply because of the recognized name. For instance, Wilson is a big tennis name, and you’ll probably find that Wilson over-grips are more expensive than names you might not have heard of. Does that mean they’re lower in standard? Not always, but Wilson is renowned for a reason!
It really depends on your budget and what you’re aiming to do. The biggest names in the men’s and women’s games always opt for equipment which allows them to make the shots they want, i.e. Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal want power, whereas Federer still wants power but he wants finesse perhaps more. For that reason, figuring out what is important to you before you shop for a grip is probably a good idea. That will inform you of grip size, and the type of grip you go for.
Of course, there is more to a game of tennis than a grip, and your racket will have several other components that make up the whole. That being said, how you hold the racket is one of the most important items – without power you will not get that ball over the net, and without being able to hold the racket comfortably and with control, your game will be extremely sub-standard.
If you’re a budding tennis player, or
perhaps you’re working your way towards the WTA yourself, it’s important to arm
yourself with the best equipment for the game.
From rackets to bags, apparel to
shoes, it’s vital that you get everything right. This isn’t only from a fashion
point of view, of course, but also from a stability point of view whilst you’re
working your way around the tennis court, hitting winners from the baseline and
attempting that seemingly impossible lob.
The top 10 players on the WTA tour know this very well, and as a result, they take the clothing and shoes they wear very seriously. It’s true that top players have lucrative deals with big sports companies, but they choose specific companies not only from what they can offer but also in terms of quality. You’re not going to find former world number 1 Serena Williams endorsing a brand which doesn’t give her the grip and bounce she needs on the court!
For that reason, you can trust the tennis shoes you’ll see adorning the feet of the WTA Top 10, understanding that it’s not only about high dollar deals with sports companies, and it’s also about which shoe gives the best performance overall.
To help you find the best fit for your
game, let’s check out which tennis shoes the current WTA players wear. To date,
the top ten players are:
Ashleigh Barty
Naomi Osaka
Karolina Pliskova
Simona Halep
Kiki Bertens
Petra Kvitova
Elina Svitolina
Sloane Stephens
Aryna Sabalenka
Serena Williams
Of course, these positions shift and
change regularly, as Grand Slams are won and points are dropped, but for now,
these are the players you need to have your eye on in terms of your future
competition!
But, what tennis shoes do these top 10
women wear, and which should you choose?
WTA Top 10’s Tennis Shoes of Choice
As mentioned earlier, the top 10
players are all signed to specific companies in terms of footwear endorsements,
but which are the best?
Current world number one, Ashleigh
Barty, is signed to Fila, and currently wears the Axilus 2 Energized tennis
shoe, seen at all major tournaments this year. This shoe is renowned for it
comfort and support, but also for the slight bounce it gives when moving
quickly on the baseline. Whilst Fila may not be the biggest name on the
sportswear block, trailing behind the big hitters of Nike and Adidas, the fact
that the current women’s world number one is endorsing them is likely to cause
more young female players to choose this type of shoe over some of the
potentially more expensive options.
World number two and former world number one, Naomi Osaka is an Adidas girl. Currently wearing the Adizero Ubersonic 3 brand of tennis shoes, these are available in several colours and are a popular choice for young players all-around. With a sturdy construction, the shoes are designed to give a little extra support to the top of the foot, leading towards the ankle, ensuring you can move from side to side with extra support, and fewer worries overturning ankles and causing injury.
Osaka is a very popular player on the women’s circuit, with countless fans following her bubbly, down to earth demeanor. For that reason, you’ll see these tennis shoes on the feet of her fans!
Rounding up our top three we have
Karolina Pliskova. Whilst Fila might not be the biggest name, as we mentioned
earlier, it certainly shows its presence on the women’s circuit, with Pliskova
wearing the same shoes as world number one, Barty. Another fan of the sturdy
design which comes alongside the Fila Axilus 2 Energized!
Shoes of Choice From Positions 4 to 7
As we move out of the top three, we
still see some big names making up the full top 10 list.
Currently sitting at number 4 we have the popular Simona Halep. Heading back towards the biggest names in sportswear, Halep is signed to Nike, and as such wears the popular Nike Air Zoom Vapor X for all major tournaments. Nike Tennis
This shoe is designed with extra support along the ankle once more, but also has added bounce in the heel section, to allow faster movement and ease of turning from side to side. Many of the male players wear the male equivalent of this shoe, with the newest technology incorporated into its construction. You’ll find this particular tennis shoe very easily on the market, however, it’s worth shopping around in terms of cost, simply because of the big name in question.
Next up we have Kiki Bertens. Here we have yet another Fila Axilus 2 Energized fan, proving that despite the lesser-known name, this is a shoe which is making waves! Usually opting for the white version, Bertens favors this shoe for all major tournaments, and again, it is down to the durability and comfort which the construction offers. Fila Ladies Tennis
Petra Kvitova is currently at number 6 on the WTA rankings, and another player signed to the huge Nike empire. Currently wearing the famous Nike Air Zoom Vapor X shoe, this is a product which the big named males also wear. Again, this is down to the construction but it’s because it is a lightweight shoe also. Despite its sturdy nature, this shoe doesn’t hold you back when moving quickly and traveling from side to side. For that reason, you’ll find Kvitova moving fast on the baseline, without hesitation or issues from her footwear.
Number 7 currently belongs to Elina
Svitolina, who is also signed to Nike. Unlike the other female players and
their Nike shoes we’ve mentioned so far, Svitolina prefers a slightly different
model, and goes for the Nike Air Zoom Zero, with a classic and lightweight
design.
Available several colours this particular shoe is almost running shoe-esque in design but has the necessary ankle and foot support required for tennis. A simple design, yet one which is made to last.
Tennis Shoes From Positions 8 to 10
Finally, we have the current three players making up the latter end of the top 10. You might be surprised to find Serena Williams currently taking number 10 position, but that’s sure to change as the season continues into the second half!
The current number 8 is Sloane Stephens. Similar to Svitolina, Sloane Stephens chooses the simple yet very effective Nike Air Zoom Zero, having signed to the big named brand a few years ago. Decked from head to toe in the iconic Swoosh, Stephens opts for this lightweight shoe with extra ankle support, also giving a slight amount of bounce in the heels section, in keeping with the ‘Air’ design we see from this brand and model.
Number 9 sees Aryna Sabalenka and her
Nike Air Zoom Vapor X, with added technology for lightweight action. A few of
the female players higher up in the rankings also wear this shoe, as we’ve
already discussed, as well as some of the male players with the male version.
This is again down to the superior support offered, but the lightweight design
which promises quick movement from side to side.
Finally, we have a big name in the form of Serena Williams. One of the game’s most successful and famous female names, Williams recently took time off to have her first child and as a result, she is a little lower down in the rankings than we’re used to seeing. As mentioned previously, this is no doubt going to change as a little time passes!
A long-term Nike signee, Williams
often has bespoke shoes made for her, sometimes in glittery designs to showcase
her fashion kudos! Lately, Williams has been seen wearing the Nike Flare 2 HC,
a sturdy shoe with extra support along the upper foot and ankle, yet still
giving that lightweight feel. In order for Williams to hit those powerful
shots, she needs a shoe which gives her stability and support, and she
obviously finds this in the Nike Flare 2 HC, wearing it on a regular basis.
Finding Your Ideal Tennis Shoe
Everyone has different preferences
when it comes to tennis shoes. Some players prefer a sturdier feel for
confidence, but others prefer a very lightweight option, to help them move
quickly and freely. The choice is yours, but it’s vital to shop around and find
the best price for whichever shoe you go for.
Will you emulate your favorite female player and go for the shoe they’re currently wearing, or will you look into other options? Fila is certainly making waves currently, with several of the top 10 opting for their shoes, but Nike is always going to be ever-present in the women’s game. We only have one Adidas ambassador in the top 10 currently, with Naomi Osaka favoring their shoes, but the top 10 rankings shift and change on a regular basis. In a few months, we might see a whole new bunch of faces, with different shoes and preferences too!
