Chris Froome is a professional athlete from Great Britain. Born on 20 May 1985, he rides for the UCI WorldTeam Team Ineos. The professional race cyclist has won many stage races which include Tour de France in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Also, he has won the Vuelta a Espana and the Giro d’Italia in 2017 and 2018. The cyclist has won two bronze medals in the Olympics and World Championships in the years 2016 and 2017.  

Early Career  

Christopher Clive Froome is Kenyan born British who grew up in South Africa. Froome has been receiving training for cycling at an early age from 13 in his hometown. He met a professional cyclist David Kinjah at that age who then helped him become a professional athlete.  

He has been a resident in Monaco since the year 2011. He joined the Team Konica Minolta professionally as an athlete when he was 22. After that, he joined the team Barloworld in 2008. He moved to Italy and took a British license the same year. In 2010, Chris Froome joined the Team Sky where he became the key cyclist of the team. He achieved his greatest milestone when he finished second overall in the Grand Tour Vuelta a Espana contest in 2011. He was promoted to the first position in the same tournament. Next year, he rode for Bradley Wiggins as a super-domestique in Tour de France and won stage seven.  

The star likes theatre and opera, but his main focus is solely his professional career.

Achievements 

The first multi-stage win of the athlete was in the Tour of Oman in 2013. After that, he won a series of contests in the Critérium du Dauphiné, Critérium International, and the Tour de Romandie. In the Tour de France, he broke the record of Miguel Induráin and defended his title.  

These big achievements were what made Froome the first professional cyclist ever to win the Tour Vuelta twice. So, he became the first cyclist in his career to have won any Grand Tour double in a period of a decade. Moreover, he came to be the only one breaking the record of Bernard Hinault by winning Grand Tour thrice since 1983.
